Holiday cottage in Edam

In the historical city of Edam, only 20 minutes away from Amsterdam, lies this idyllic detached holiday cottage on the waterside.  According to the Lonely Planet Guide, Edam is the second most beautiful city of the Netherlands and I totally agree.

The house is located on a quiet spot,  only 3 minutes walking from the bus station and the city centre. The lovely private garden lies on the South and borders on the river with a view overlooking the water and the meadows making it a serene place to relax. From the open kitchen you walk into the garden.  Because of the moving water there are no mosquitos!

The holiday cottage in Edam is fully equiped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, oven, microwave, washer, dryer, radio/tv/dvd and wifi. On the first floor  you find a small bathroom with toilet, sink and shower and 1 large bedroom with a double and single bed.

Edam is situated on the IJsselmeer. The city has a rich history of shipyards, timber trade and cheese. It has beautiful buildings from the Golden Age, canals, museums, a good selection of restaurants and nice (antique)shops. Set in a open natural landscape and yet very close to Amsterdam. The bus runs day and night and brings you in 25 minutes to Amsterdam.

There are many cycling and walking tours, a choice in daytrips to places around the IJssellake eather by coach or by a Dutch barge. Visit Volendam or the island of Marken where it seems  time stood still. In July and August there are cheese markets every Wednesday in Edam. Different golf links are only 15-minutes by car.
Don’t forget to rent an electric boat or canoe to discover the rural surroundings of the small towns of Zuiderwoude, Broek in Waterland and Monnickendam or rent a boat to explore the small canals of Edam.

Too much to mention , so come and see for yourself!
I hope to welcome you soon!
